This morning I was sifting through boxes and mounds full of old pictures and papers. Amidst all of the rummaging, I stumbled upon a couple of my senior pictures and I thought to myself, “What the hell were you thinking?” This then led to an idea. Holy mother of God, I had an idea. I haven’t had one of those in 33 weeks and 1 day… give or take.
So, thus begins the series called “What The…?”
I know what you’re all thinking and, yes, I have won awards for my originality. I hold ceremonies in my own head and display my trophies proudly whenever I need a little boost of confidence. I rock my world.
The “What The…?” posts will consist of anything and everything that make you go, well, “What The??” Again, my originality overwhelms me at times.
So, without further adieu…
What The…??
These are two of my senior pics. The only two salvagable, anyway. I know that there are more somewhere, but if I recall correctly they were on a floppy disk that my mom has (or, more likely HAD). If you lost me at “floppy disk”, not to worry, it just means you are under the age of about 22. Please, allow me to bring you up to speed:
Floppy disk – Black square object, approximately the size of a CD case that yes, does actually flop. Meant to hold data and can be inserted into computers that, no doubt, no longer exist because they are all at the bottom of landfills worldwide.
At first glance, I didn’t think much of these pictures. Then, I saw them. The bangs. Oh, sweet Jesus, the bangs. I understand that bangs are coming back into style. That’s all well and good. I will, however, never EVER appreciate the “my mom cuts my bangs with masking tape a kitchen shears” trend. True story.

You may not appreciate it, but I have never in my life seen more evenly trimmed bangs! Your hair is so luscious, full, and shiny, by the way. LUCKY YOU! You were cute in your senior pics!
blueviolet – Ah, thanks. This was a lucky shot… when you’re working with masking tape, its easy to get quite the slant going. Especially when your my mother.
Don’t forget that you were the stylish one! What does that mean for me??
Jos – It means mom messed up and wrapped the masking tape around your whole head.
Ok- You are thinking WT…and I am thinking–wow–really nice hair! I had a pixie cut my senior yr and looked like a boy!
Too funny… my sister had a pixie cut in high school and thought the same thing. I actually thought it was cute! The grass is always greener…
You’re gonna have to do better than this because you look beautiful in these photos (bangs and all). Now, if you can find a photo of yourself in Hammer pants or sportin’ a Units belt, we might be in business!
