It shouldn’t hurt to be a kid. Hands down, this is my favorite time of year. I love walking into stores, seeing the (way too early) Christmas Displays. Going to the pumpkin patch, hearing my kids talk about Halloween and excitedly tell me what they want to be every single day – Usually something different each time. Planning for the holidays with my family, watching the little ones all whisper their excitement to one another.

I can honestly (and, regretfully) say that this is the only time of year that I sit back, watch my kids and really absorb the reality of how little time we have together. Not our lives… but THIS time. When they’re little and innocent and simple. Every kid should have that time of their lives. Every kid should be able to lay awake in excitement Christmas eve. Or, change their mind about what they want to be for Halloween 166 times.
